Archdiocese of Chicago
Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools exist primarily to evangelize and to educate students for the Church’s mission in the world.
The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools system serves more than 78,000 students in 217 schools, including 180 Archdiocesan-sponsored schools, in Cook and Lake Counties. It is the largest private school system in the United States and the recipient of the greatest number of U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Awards of any school system, public or private. In July 2015, all Archdiocesan elementary and secondary schools were successfully accredited by AdvancED, the largest community of education professionals in the world.
Mission
The mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools is to educate the whole child – academically, spiritually, physically and emotionally – through a faith-based learning environment. Our Catholic schools are igniting the light in future leaders.
Vision
Provide all people in the Archdiocese of Chicago with vibrant, high quality Catholic schools that are available, accessible and affordable.

St. Mary of the Annunciation
Formerly known as the St. Mary of the Annunciation Elementary school as part of the Catholic Consortium of Lake County, the Mundelein Campus has served Preschool through 5th grade students for many years. Prior to its reduction in grade levels, the St. Mary school served kindergarten through 8th grade many decades.
Students and families share in the partnership of our collaborating parish, St. Mary of the Annunciation. Throughout the years of our formation as a regional school model, St. Mary school has carried on many traditions and legacies. We are blessed by all those alumni that have attended our school for decades. Upon closing of the Santa Maria del Popolo school, our St. Mary school was blessed to welcome many former Santa Maria students and families into our school family. Many of which we still serve today.
Santa Maria del Popolo
The Santa Maria del Popolo parish joined as part of the Catholic Consortium of Lake County school system the same year it closed it's school doors. Many of the Santa Maria del Popolo students and families joined in partnership with our St. Mary school and started attending in 2014. Prior to its closing, the Santa Maria school served kindergarten through 8th grade many decades.
Our graduating class of 2019 represents the last class to have attended school at the Santa Maria school building, but none-the-less they are not the last Santa Maria parishioners to continue to attend our school. As a supporting parish, many Santa Maria del Popolo parishioners continue to choose Catholic education for their children by enrolling them at Frassati Catholic Academy. Our school presently offers a bus stop for students located at our Santa Maria parish.
